What is gentle yin yoga?

Gentle Yin Yoga - Suitable for all levels. Yin Yoga-invites you to slow down and create space for stillness while nourishing joints, ligaments, tendons and fascia. Yin is yoga at its coolest, deepest, quietest, stillest moments. ... Poses are held for 2-5 minutes allowing joints and fascia to release.usually consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body - the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine.  We use blocks bolsters and straps to help dive deeper into poses. 

In Yin Yoga the muscles we need for movement are relaxed and the deeper layers of the body — our connective tissues, fascia and ligaments — are engaged.  Yin Yoga gently energizes and deeply calms the body and mind providing an antidote to the negative effects of stress in our lives.
